Although this app only provides 10 filters, you are able to choose how strong or subtle you want the effect using a slider. You also have control over aspects such as saturation, sharpness and whether you want a colored tint. VSCO Cam doesn’t include a social-networking aspect, so if you want to share the images you’ve created with friends you must either send it to Instagram or post it elsewhere.

Cartoon Camera
Cartoon Camera lets you make your photos appear as different styles of drawings, such as ‘cartoon’ and ‘color drawing’. It can’t be used to edit existing photos, though. Instead, you get a live view when taking an image, which makes it easier to compose your shot and choose your effect before you take the photo. There’s no way to share images from the app, it saves these directly to your device, so you can share the images from the picture gallery.

Picsay PRO
Picsay PRO is super lightweight photo editor made for low end devices. You can apply over 400 stickers to any photo; make lots of changes in visuals by using preloaded options. You can also add images to other photo. Though its just 1.5 MB app, it has lots of theming options to offer. This my phone’s default photo editor for more than one year.

How to download and run Genymotion

Once you've installed the software, sign in with your Genymotion credentials and you can select from a list of virtual Android devices with varying hardware configurations and versions of the Android operating system. Your virtual Android device will then be automatically downloaded. All that remains for you to do is click the Play button and start it up. You’ll almost certainly have seen Bitstrips cartoons in your Facebook news feed, so why not join the latest craze of Bitstrips?
What better way to spend a morning hanging around a deserted train station in Mumbai than to create hilarious comics strips starring yourself and your Facebook friends?

This is the service offered by free Android and iOS app Bitstrips, and by now you’ll almost certainly have witnessed its popularity through the cartoon adventures spread all over your Facebook news feed. Bitstrips is a huge app in size to download, but it includes a good number of high-quality cartoons, and you can go into some detail when designing your avatar. You must log in via Facebook, alternative logins are coming soon. You then create your avatar in great detail, including gender, outfit, hairstyle, build, eye color and much more.

If you like being the center of attention, you can feature alone in your cartoons, but Bitstrips really is more fun when you involve your friends. If they already have Bitstrips avatars then you can include them in comic strips without their permission; if they don’t, you can create an avatar for them. The app’s home page then delivers a scrolling list of the latest comics, and you can add new characters at the top of the page. Tap the Create icon at the bottom of the screen to create your own greeting card, status- or friend comic, within which you can choose from categories such as Birthdays and Anniversaries or Pranks and Insults.

App of the day: Picsay photo editor.
Price: free / Paid
Main use : Faster photo editing with less powered phone.

Few days ago I shared Snaseed and VSCO cam which are good photo editor and camera app respectively. Today I'll share my view on light weight application Picsay pro.

This app is bright, colourful and fun, and it walks the line between childish and charming, coming out just perfect for getting good results with your photos. On the straight-up editing side, it offers the basic functions you would expect from an editing package such as sharpen, redeye, crop and straighten. Moving on from these functions, you can add and edit text and apply effects from Lomo and Tilt-shift to pencil sketches, among others. The cutting-out function works particularly well, and you can take pieces of one image and add them to another. The result is really natural and seamless, and it requires very little eff ort. The stickers make for particularly amusing results. A series of transferable cartoon objects such as hats and moustaches can be applied to your images; this is really great for making your own photographs to send to friends and family for birthdays and special occasions. Rather than looking kitsch and homemade, these images really come into their own and prove very addictive to play around with.

App of the day: Writer
Price: FREE
Main use: A simple writing app.
Size: Just 96KB

The Android platform offers lots when it comes to writing applications, and a trip to the Play Store will give you a whole host to choose from. Writer is one such app, but where it looks to carve itself a niche is in its simplicity. While the majority of apps like this off er advanced functionality, Writer focuses on one thing and doing it well -Simplicity.

Upon opening the app you're greeted by a sparse homepage, where selecting the "Welcome to Writer" document brings up a page of welcome text, written so that the formatting options are explained within. When you're ready, return to the homepage and start writing.  The design is the epitome of simplicity as you use your on-screen keyboard to type whatever you like, be it notes, ideas, to-do lists, book, blog post like this or anything else you might be working on. Text formatting is applied using hash tags, asterisks and other characters, allowing you to bold up and italicise words, add quotation marks and order your text into bullet points. While these options are welcome, it's disappointing that the special characters remain within the text once the formatting is applied.

There are tonnes of fitness trackers in Play Store, but despite such huge competition, Endomondo is still one of the best app out there. GPS accuratelymeasures each performence, with the Time Goal mode training you for improved results. With a pre-installed list of dozens of sports, it's capable of gauging your responses accordingly, distinguishing between cycling for transport and cycling as a dedicated activity, for example. Facebook integration, allowing your friends to comment on your updates, and in-app playback of your music playlists are both great if you feel in need of a spot of motivation. The only function that doesn't really work is monitoring stationary exercises, such as weight lifting, as it still tries to measure in distance. Hopefully updates will address that.

Most people only view their photos on the device they took them on so it makes sense
to make the viewing experience as pleasant as possible. That is exactly what this app offers.

QuickPic can either be used in addition to your stock gallery or can replace it entirely. Once installed, you can choose to openyour images through QuickPic or your standard gallery. If you're sold by it you could, if you have the option, make it the only gallery available on your device. The biggest benefit of QuickPic is speed. It is a lot quicker than any Android gallery and can handle hundreds of images without slowing down your phone, this is all because of robust cache system used in app. The images are presented in grids grouped by individual folders. Images are really bright and dynamic on the flick-throughpresentation mode. You can also choose which folders to include in your gallery and keep your private ones hidden.

Anyone can do the normal customization of android with skinned launchers and modded apps, some of us use advance way to mod apps by flashing zips or switching to Custom ROMs. But the easiest way of modding is XPOSED.

With help of Xposed Framework, you can apply mods/Tweak system just by downloading and installing a "module". Just download...Install...Reboot and you are good to go.

Warning: This app needs root, I am not responsible for any damage to your phone caused by rooting. Do some research before you execute.

After installing any module you must reboot. If you get stuck on bootloot then too there is a easy solution. All you need to do is flash a zip from recovery, go to recovery>flash Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip which you will find on your SD card.

If you don't want to move from stock rom or want to add more tweaks to your custom rom Xposed the best way for it and so far its safest way of modding android. Xposed does not really edit ANY SYSTEM FILE so you can revert back anytime.

The Internet is a gold mine of information and entertainment – it has every conceivable subject that people can imagine. The vast collection of information is hidden away in billions of pages, so finding it all is not always easy. However, when you do, Pocket is on hand to help store for future reference. The whole process is east and fast. When users find a page, video or image they simply need to tap the normal share tab. One tap and the page is added to Pocket. Saving is that simple, but control passes to the Pocket app after the initial sharing process. Users can sync to update content, filter by title, type or URL and add tags for easy finding.
To save pages via the default Android browser, first tap the menu icon, in the top-right. From the menu select Share page. This will display a list of options, Tap See all and select Add to Pocket.

Experiment with effects.
There are plenty of effects all presented in this carousel of options, which you can scroll through left and right. Tapping on an option gives you the ability to alter the photograph by sliding your finger until you are satisfied that you have the perfect final result. You can then go back to the home page.

Get editing in seconds.
Opening a photograph is the simplest process of them all in Snapseed. The ability to do this is presented at the top of the screen and only needs a tap before you are asked if you wish to take or choose a photo. Make your choice and within seconds you have an image ready to start manipulating.

Do compare your editing
The Compare option lets you see the original photograph so that you can contrast it with the one that you have manipulated in the Snapseed app. The photograph appears in the main window of the home screen and from here you can go on to add many more effects

If you make a mistake, hit the Revert button to go back to the original artwork. There are other options here too. Tap the menu in the top-right corner, and as well as allowing you to share and find online help, you can also show the instructional overlay which lets you work out what does what.
